We created these characters which became known as 'Elle' & 'Bo' after seeing the Antony Gormley installation 'Field for the British Isles'. Giant statues of the couple stopped traffic as they travelled around the country on promotional duties. Illustrations: Mr. Murdoch
'Klang' saw us re-create Ludwig Hirschfeld Mack's 1920's experiments with apparatus that generated moving projections of coloured light using Josef Alber inspired type shapes.
'Ten New Messages' uses a graphic interpretation of morse code after being given 48 hours to produce final artwork.
Neil Hannon's sign off to the 20th Century was shot by Kevin Westenberg in Berlin. We employed a simple typographic approach to create these iconic covers.
Previous album sleeve designs for 'Casanova', A Short Album About Love' & A Secret History' all featured photography by Kevin Westenberg.
When traditional marble engraving proved to time consuming and expensive for this album campaign the talents of Mr. Murdoch's CGI creation were needed.
This image of a 1940's couple outside the Granada cinema was licensed and subtley altered for The Cribs 'Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever' album cover which won Best Vinyl Art Cover 2007.
